Winner: Assegai Investment Club

The Assegai Investment Club, named after a Zulu Warriors spear (inspired by Jim Slater's "The Zulu Principle", formed in 2001 in Hampshire. The club's Zulu inspired website embodies the spirit of their investment principles. More than that, the website is also packed with information on their portfolio, company research, photos, links to other investment clubs and more.

The Achievement Award

Winner: Mobius Investment Club

The Mobius Investment Club from Leeds, named after the mathematician who created a two dimensional surface with only one side, have consistently put a great deal of effort in to contacting other clubs to share ideas and experiences throughout their existance. Over the past year, they have given presentations to a number of clubs, as well as invited other clubs to present to their members. They also use their website as a means to communicate with other clubs and promote the investment club movement, as well as contribute ideas and suggestions on the ProShare Clubs Message Boards on a regular basis.

Most Innovative

Winner: Dynamic Investment Club

This Bristol club is a former award winner and has certainly lived up to its name, investing in everything from exchange traded funds to dipping their toes in the Japanese and Indian markets. They pride themselves on their innovative spirit and approach to investing, whilst still managing to have a bit of fun. The clubs portfolio boasts a range of products, such as ETFs, Investment Trusts, emerging market funds and Small Caps.

Most Successful Club - Traditional Share Trading

Winner: Triple S Investment Club

The Triple S Investment Club was formed in September 2000 and now has 21 members, split between 12 men and 9 women aged between 25-64. Remarkably, this Sunderland based club's claim to fame is that it has never had an argument, disagreement or even the smallest point of friction in over 5 years.

The Triple S Investment Club saw their portfolio up 50% over 2005.

Most Successful Club - Active Trading

Winner: Doomsday Investment Club

The Doomsday Investment Club was formed at the end of December 2000 by a combination of active and retired staff from D Watch at the Scottish & Oceanic Air Traffic Control in Prestwick, Scotland. The club is unique in that its members rarely ever meet - all shift workers, they communicate via their excellent website. Doomsday were 2004's Most Successful Club.

Young Acheiver

Winner: Theo Casey

Theo Casey, a City whiz-kid in the making has launched the successful Blueprint Investment Club at Royal Holloway University of London and broadened this out across local universities. He has featured on numerous media outlets, organised successful events and upon graduation plans to launch his own investment scheme in collaboration with university officials.

Private Investor of the Year

Winner: Paul Dolman Darrall

A motivated individual who strives to promote private investing in the UK. Paul from London is a member of the Fairer Shares Investment Club, a work based club he set up at the John Lewis Partnership. As well as investing as a club he is also a keen private investor and an ambassador for private investors, having advised friends and family in matters of finance.

As well as being a vociferous supporter of investing and investment clubs and writing and contributing to a range of publications and the ProShare Clubs website, he has also mounted a campaign to spread awareness of Child Trust Funds as a way to encourage wider share ownership.

The Fairer Shares Investment Club from London is made up of employees of the John Lewis Partnership and has seen its portfolio rise by 75% over the last three years. Not surprisingly the club has also doubled its membership in the last 12 months. The club has launched an innovative 'invest in your life' policy, where members back companies that they use and understand.
